Lake Superior circle tour, Day 7

It didn’t rain last night, but I didn’t want to take any chances either.  Here are few photos from the Cabin in Apostle Area Campground.

Today it was all cloudy and sometimes wet road but it didn’t rain at all. There is chance of thunder shower in the forecast for Duluth that I will be staying tonight.  I hope that won’t happen either.

I stopped for a short break at an old windmill built by immigrants from Finland.  Looks like there were lots of immigrants from Finland in these areas as I see their flags very often.

Then I stopped at Amnicon Falls state park for a visit of the falls.  There was $5 fee for an hour entrance permit!  I walked around the whole place in less than an hour.  After seeing Niagara falls,  these places seems like just a rough river.  But I guess they have to call it fall to bring the visitors in to see.

I finally got to KOA campground at Cloquet/Duluth. the price for the cabin was more than what I was expecting, but luckily I got some discount. The place is nice and the shower and washroom area is very clean and nice.  The camp site is beside an active railroad that very often a train passes with a loud horn. PH000344_thm
